Miracle: this is the word on everyone’s lips towards the ending of the 1950s. It’s about the economy, that is giving lifeblood to Italy, but it’s also about lots of small stories, careers and artisan companies that were born and keep on going even nowadays: real prodigies.
Francesco “Franco” Soggiu’s story is one of them. His miracle consists in discovering his love for wood in his youth, his talent for shaping it and his passion for making people comfortable in the spaces they love.
More than 20 years have passed since Franco Soggiu started making people’s spaces better. Italy has changed, and so has he. The years of his youth have come to an end, and so have the difficulties and the uncertainties.
The Italian “Years of lead” end and the 80s begin: in the meantime, Franco Soggiu opens a new stage of his life. His fate is in his hands, the dream comes true, and the talent has his own venue. Soggiu Arredamenti is now born.
A story ends, another one starts, yet everything continues. As the millennium ends, Soggiu Arredamenti changes its shape, without losing its soul. The 2000s are imminent, and so is the need for technology, creativity, and innovation.
Franco Soggiu knows he can no longer create what people dream, but he’s not alone. Franco has another treasure: he had the capacity of teaching the value of work to his daughter Lorena and his sons Massimo and Antonio, who carry on their father’s passion. The shape is new, the dream is the same. The soul is safe.
The world is now digital and the Made in Italy a recognised value throughout the world. Soggiu Arredamenti must keep up if it wants to keep on with Franco’s passion. This story, which started more than 70 years ago, must find new energy.
Soggiu Unique Design is now born. It’s a different way of creating the furniture. It is born to reward the dedication of Lorena, Massimo and Antonio, but above all for Franco’s passion, who’s no longer here with us but surely would appreciate how we keep on making people feel comfortable in their spaces.
